Twins Bill and Brian Waugh, owners of Waugh’s Automotive, described their business as a specialty shop focused on air conditioning and electrical diagnostics, check engine lights and more.

“I’m very excited about this,” Brian said. “It’s brand new. It’s something that honestly feels like a long-time coming situation. We’ve done a lot of work with a lot of companies, and we just decided to do it on our own.” Bill said he and his brother had put themselves out in public as artists and musicians for the past several years, but behind the scenes have been working on vehicles since they were young.

“So, this business is not new to us as far as the auto repair and running a business,” Bill said. “We have just been kind of working behind the scenes while we’re being artists. But we figured it’s about time to just have a little place to be every day instead of being on the road. But we’re excited. The car business is not new to us. This business is new. It’s not like we learned how to change a spark plug last week type of thing. Our dad was a diesel mechanic, so we grew up around cars and trucks.”

The twins, originally from Boise, Idaho, have more than 40 years of combined professional experience in the automotive field. Throughout the years, they have achieved many automotive certifications and worked in various capacities, including shops, businesses and dealerships. The brothers eventually decided to start a business and began working on the building of their new establishment four months ago.Bill said one day, he went to his brother Brian to go forward with opening their own auto business.“And here we are — let’s do it,” Brian said. “We have the background. We’ve got the training, and we can do our own thing.”The brothers said their goal is to bring an honest and trustworthy auto shop to the community that they can rely on.Bill said they want to build rapport with customers and have repeat customers.“A lot of repair shops kind of get a bad rap because of honesty and because of pricing,” he said. “Of course, we need to make a living, but we rather a customer come back forever rather than just get them one time.” Bill said they are focused on being thorough with the work they do by providing an accurate diagnosis using the latest technology and equipment geared toward air conditioning, computer diagnostics and electrical.
