All About Us

In 1945, A.J. Nash and W.B. Moseley, Jr. formed the partnership Moseley and Nash, which involved farming, timber and sawmills. In 1951 A.J. Nash purchased a well rig and began drilling wells and continued to farm, while W.B. Moseley Jr. concentrated on timber and sawmills. As the years progressed Moseley and Nash drilled wells from the northern counties in North Carolina, all of Southside Virginia, even wells as far north as Maryland and as far west as the Blue Ridge Parkway. In 1971 Moseley and Nash Enterprise, Inc. was formed with multiple drill rigs, service equipment and 14 employees. A.M. (Andy) Nash began to operate the business after his father, A.J Nash died in 1980. His brother B.A. Nash joined the business in 1982 and worked there until his death. Andy Nash formed Moseley and Nash Well and Septic LLC in 2009 to concentrate on well and septic construction and pump installation and maintenance. It continues to construct wells in the northern North Carolina counties surrounding Lake Gaston and all of Southside Virginia. At age five Andy was driving a tractor on the farm. He started working early in the family business and never stopped. Continuing to work on the farm and with the wells and pumps throughout his adolescent and teenage years, Andy learned the business, though he planned to attend veterinary school. Andy graduated from Virginia Tech with a BS in animal science, however he did not pursue veterinary medicine after his father’s death. Andy has been involved with his profession since early in his career. He was president of the Virginia Water Well Association in 1982, the youngest president up to that point in time. The employees of Moseley and Nash are one of the company’s most valuable assets. Most have been with the company for many years–together totaling over 175 years. Their expertise, common sense, and pride in their jobs is unsurpassed. As with all industries, changes are inevitable. Even though water systems were introduced into the company’s service area, yet Moseley and Nash has remained busy digging wells. Water filters were added as another product line. Pretreatment septic systems have become a necessity for some lots and Moseley and Nash was one of the first companies to install them. Andy feels his best advertisement is his customer’s word of mouth. Moseley and Nash Well and Septic is a member of the following: Better Business Bureau Lake Gaston Regional Chamber of Commerce Virginia Water Well Association
