Founded in 1989 by Martha Orgain, The ArtBank of Southside Virginia promotes, encourages, and supports the arts and cultural events in Brunswick County and surrounding areas for the enjoyment and education of its citizens. The ArtBank is a non-profit organization.
Since 1989, The ArtBank has presented more than 300 arts programs free or at a minimal cost to over 80,000 students and adults. These programs have provided and continue to offer opportunities to explore the world of dance, theater, music, painting, poetry, storytelling, and mime. Performances take place in Lawrenceville, Virginia. Programs are supported in part by the Virginia Commission for the Arts, National Endowment for the Arts, Brunswick County, the Town of Lawrenceville, corporate sponsors, local co-sponsors and patrons.
